Absolutely!  Tours are available every other Monday at 11 a.m. To schedule a tour, please click the “Plan a Visit” tab at the top of the page.

Yes.  KWI accepts federal financial assistance for the Certified Pipe Program and the Certified Structural Program for those who qualify under the Federal Pell Grant Program.  Federal School Code: 043101

Currently, students acquire personal loans from their bank or other eligible borrowers.  Additionally, serious enrollees will seek out the many available private scholarships for career training.  KWI does accept Federal Pell Grants for those who qualify for the Certified Pipe Program and the Certified Structural Program. 

Our most popular course is the Certified Pipe Welder, which is 6 months.   It is a total of 960 clock hours.  The Certified Structural Welder course is 4 months or a total or 640 clock hours.  The shortest course is the Certified Fabricator Welder at 3 months or 480 hours

Certainly.  Our custom welding course is for students that already possess some level of training and/or skill.  The outline is designed specifically to the individual based upon their needs.

Applicants with prior learning in the discipline of welding may request to have their transcript evaluated for possible transfer of credit.

Unfortunately not, all students must have a high school diploma or GED to be admitted to Kentucky Welding Institute.  Students must be a minimum of 17 years of age at enrollment and 18 upon expected graduation of KWI for successful placement.
