KWI runs two competitions for high school welders. Pick the one that fits you.
In-State Series
Bluegrass Welding Series
Eight events across Kentucky and Ohio from October 2026 through April 2027. AWS-based scoring, with scholarships and prizes at every stop. The series champion is crowned at the season finale.
National Finale
National Senior Welding Competition
April 3, 2027 in Flemingsburg, KY. High school seniors compete against the best in the nation in a SMAW 2G and 3G open root weld test, with over $100K in scholarships and on-site AWS certification testing.
